Laguna-Acoma Teen Health Center Welcomes Denise Sanfilippo, Certified Nurse Practitioner

Presbyterian Medical Services (PMS) – Laguna-Acoma Teen Health Center welcomes Denise Sanfilippo to its medical team. Sanfilippo is a Certified Nurse Practitioner and is accepting new patients at 505-552-0163. Laguna-Acoma Teen Health Center is located at 282 Casa Blanca Road in Casa Blanca and offers primary care services to students and staff of Laguna-Acoma Jr.-Sr. High School. She will also be accepting patients at the Grants Family Health Center part-time.

“The challenge of a constant variety of patients and conditions is one of the things I look forward to,” said Sanfilippo. She said she also looks forward to becoming involved in the teen population by influencing a healthy lifestyle to help them achieve their full potential.

She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). She earned her Master of Science in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University School of Nursing in Phoenix, Arizona.

Previously, Sanfilippo managed labor and delivery at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. She has also worked at a pediatric clinic providing pediatric primary care.

“I want to make a difference in the lives of people of all ages, genders and ethnicities,” Sanfilippo said.

As with all PMS federally qualified health centers, Laguna-Acoma Teen Health Clinic is not-for-profit and accredited by The Joint Commission. The Center does not turn away any patient due to lack of insurance or financial status. Payment options include Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance.
