Gary Allan, DNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)

Allan is a lifelong learner who holds numerous degrees including Associate degrees in Liberal Arts and Nursing; a Bachelor’s degree in Religion & Philosophy; and Master’s degrees in Pastoral Care & Counseling; Family Studies, Marriage & Family Therapy; and Nursing. He later received post-Master’s certificates as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for Adults and Families, and, most recently, a Doctor of Nursing Practice. In addition to being a PMHNP-BC, he holds licenses as a Registered Nurse; Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

Asked about his career path, Allan replied, “I have worked in mental health as a Registered Nurse and therapist for many years. I felt a need to improve my ability to provide services and decided that becoming a PMHNP was the best avenue. Presbyterian Medical Services was a good fit for me since it allows me to provide services to a population in need.”

When not working, he loves travel, history, cultural studies, and spirituality.
