He holds current memberships with the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the National Health Service Corps.

Prior to joining Presbyterian Medical Services as a Physician Assistant, Derrick was an emergency medical professional, having served as an EMS Program Manager for the New Mexico Department of Health, and as an Emergency Department Technician with the University of New Mexico Hospital. He is retired from the U.S. Air Force.

Derrick decided to join Presbyterian Medical Services as he was “impressed with the breadth of the organization which serves many communities through a variety of programs”. He also was inspired by the “good stories” he heard about Presbyterian Medical Services from other providers. He cites a specific desire to serve underserved communities, as well.
