Dr. Leggett received his PH.D. in Counseling Psychology from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, and his Masters of Science in Psychopharmacology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. His background includes hospital and clinic settings as well as professorships.
In addition to membership with the New Mexico Psychological Association, Dr. Leggett holds professional memberships with the American Psychological Association, State Psychologist Association of New Mexico, and the National Health Service Corp. He currently is Secretary of State Psychologist Association of New Mexico.
Dr. Leggett is a Prescribing Psychologist with more than 17 years of experience in mental health care.
“I get a deep sense of satisfaction from helping others,” Dr. Leggett said on arrival to WNMMG-BH. “I decided to become a psychologist because of the mental health needs I witnessed as a child and teenager. I decided to pursue prescription practice as I’ve witnessed the suffering of untreated patients in Indiana.
Dr. Leggett says he “looks forward to helping the underserved populations in Western New Mexico.” He and his wife have four children.
