After graduating with honors, she organized a community taskforce that worked for three years to develop a community health center in Cerrillos. The group partnered with Presbyterian Medical Services to open OMHC in the fall of 1995.
LuAnn replied, “I decided to work for and with Presbyterian Medical Services due to its mission of providing quality healthcare to the underserved regardless of their ability to pay for services. Another reason was Presbyterian Medical Services willingness to let us keep our local identity so that OMHC represents not only PMS but also our diverse community. These factors were central to forming an alliance with Presbyterian Medical Services to create OMHC.”
