About Richard

I have served with numerous professional boards and associations. I am particularly proud of my past work with the National Rural Health Association, National Advisory Committee on Rural Health, New Mexico Medical Review Association, New Mexico Medical Society- Department of Health Clinical Prevention Initiative and Sandoval County Health Alliance.

I founded the Nacimiento Medical Foundation, a non-profit agency providing family planning, school health and public health, and client assistance services for the Cuba-Checkerboard area. In his capacity as administrative agent for that organization, he has obtained important funding to improve health care and other human services in the region.

I am a recipient of the Larrazolo Lifetime Achievement award from the New Mexico Public Health Association, I have devoted my professional life to helping the people of rural New Mexico access high quality preventive and primary health care.
