Sandra Allen, MD (Medical Director)



Dr. Allen has a medical degree from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. She earned a degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education-Exercise Science. She entered medicine as she “saw a need for equitable healthcare and wanted to work with underserved populations.”


“I also feel medicine offers numerous opportunities for problem solving, personal development and service, which keeps work interesting,” she said. Dr. Allen opted to join Presbyterian Medical Services for its stated mission and because of the enthusiasm that was evidenced by its employees. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

A native of South Central New Mexico, Dr. Allen is fluent in Spanish. From the age of six she grew up in Tularosa, NM, where she has “fond memories of her childhood playing in the irrigation ditches and exploring the desert.” Over the years she has worked as a personal trainer and fitness educator. She and her husband, have three children. In her spare time she enjoys reading, exercising, and salsa dancing.
