Dr. Timothy N. Garcia has many years of experience as a health care provider in New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming.
Dr. Garcia was raised in the Pueblo of Cochiti where he has “always been aware of the need for quality health care.” It was here that an awareness of issues related to health care access was formed and when he became inspired to become a physician. Over the years, Dr. Garcia has worked in many capacities in medicine. His background includes a position as staff physician with Zuni Comprehensive Health Center in Zuni, NM; with Towaoc I.H.S. Clinic in Towaoc, CO, and with Presbyterian Healthcare Services - Rio Bravo Clinic in Albuquerque, NM. Dr. Garcia has served as Clinical Director with Acoma-Canoncito-Laguna Hospital, as well.
Dr. Garcia joined Presbyterian Medical Services - Checkerboard Area Health System/Cuba Health Center in 2001. Prior, Dr. Garcia was an Assistant Professor with the University of New Mexico Department of Family Medicine. He conducted both his Residency and Internship with UNM’s Family Practice Program.
Dr. Garcia lives in Corrales and has four children. In his spare time, he pursues his interests in running, hiking, reading, and growing with his family. He is a member of the National Re-engineering Collaborative and is a past member of the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association, among other affiliations.
