About Wendy
Wendy Velez brings 25 years of diverse healthcare experience to her role in Primary Care, combining deep clinical expertise with a lifelong passion for patient care. Her healthcare journey began over two decades ago as a dietary aide, a foundational role that sparked her dedication to patient wellness and inspired her to pursue nursing school.
Throughout her distinguished nursing career, Wendy has thrived in fast-paced, high-acuity environments. She spent years delivering critical interventions across several acute care departments, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac-Telemetry, and the Emergency Room (ER). Today, she channels her comprehensive clinical background into Primary Care, a field she has dedicated herself to for the past year and truly loves, focusing on preventative medicine and long-term patient health.
Committed to clinical excellence and advanced practice, Wendy is currently expanding her leadership and clinical skills in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at New Mexico State University (NMSU).
Beyond her professional achievements, Wendy is deeply grounded by her family. She has been happily married for 26 years, is the proud mother of two children, and cherishes her role as a grandmother to one grandbaby.
