About Janie
Janie Vargas began her medical career in 1980 when she obtained her associate degree as a registered nurse at New Mexico State University. Her desire to further her career and knowledge of medicine prompted her to return to New Mexico State University to obtain a degree in Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1990. After completion of her degree, she worked at Memorial Medical Center for twenty-eight years. In 2004, she completed graduate school at the University of North Dakota and became a Physician Assistant. Ms. Vargas’ experience includes pediatrics, geriatrics, women’s health, minor procedures, and family preventative health.
Ms. Vargas and her husband moved to Deming, New Mexico in 2019. Small town living suits her perfectly. Janie is excited to continue her journey with Presbyterian Medical Services. She is committed to her community and providing the highest level of care for the community that she loves.
